Just had carbs and fuel pump rebuilt. I have the carbs on but I cant remember where the fuel pump lines go. I have this exact motor. If you have any pictures that would be great. (they have been off 8 months)
Could you please tell me whats the name and purpose of the small tube that comes from the cylinder (next to the fuel pump but on the other cylinder) to the intake side? (Mine is leaking and spits - maybe unburnt fuel?)
If you use Sabre oil you can cut down to 80:1 less smoke, more HP, and not waste heat trying to burn oil. Burn more gas, make more heat, aka hp. AMSOIL SABRE PROFESSIONAL 2 STROKE OIL
Running in a tank is no indication of how it runs when propelling the weight of a boat and all it's contents including the operator.It does however tell you that it starts and shifts.
@@donk499 Lol. I call it the tower of death. Omg those little sticks..... 😁. Why couldn't they make them put of steel? I've used metal rods and it ovals the plastic housing. Ugh
Big mistake..been there tried that..15 carb will bolt on an 8hp, but motor will not idle or for that matter run right at all, to much gas for the block, pistons are smaller, will not accept that much fuel..
Dino, its been a long time since I've seen a outboard post from you. I've since moved on to a new 4 stroke a couple years back. That motor looks brand new. Any problems with it?
I would change the impeller first. Sometimes the power head needs to be pulled, and the little grommet replaced where the water tube goes into. Also maybe a bad thermostat?
Mine is great just like yours! I wonder though.. do you still have yours?

Possibly a breather / vent tube. Just a guess I don't own one of these motors yet

Do you remember the exact stator model number you replace? My engine serial number is gone and I have no idea which stator I need
It's been so long. I have no idea. But it cured the no spark issue I had.

Never run up a 2 cycle like this out of the water. Ever! Carbon will not build up on these plugs

These are one of the best outboards ever produced....Not real powerful, but they run so nicely, and are simple, rugged, and reliable...
But the pull starter tower is the only flaw in the design.

That is a beautiful motor for sure. The water level should be higher though, at least above the impeller housing.
Hello I have this Motor. One of the transom clamp bolts is bent so won’t screw up! Any guidance how to fix it?

You need a lot more water in that can. I see its pumping, but the water level is marginal at best.
I got the motor having a problem with no water coming through the tell tale and its getting hot
